Art Abilities was founded by Melbourne native Lori Goetz Emly, a retired engineer, artist, and teacher. Lori worked as an instructor at the Brevard Art Museum from 2002-2013. She worked with Very Special Arts at the state and county level and started the Art Program for Adults with disabilities at Brevard Achievement Center in 2007 and continues to support artists with disabilities in Brevard County. In 2015 she opened her own studio, Art Abilities, in EGAD (Eau Gallie Arts District). Art Abilities is now located at 631 S. Apollo Blvd. at the corner of Babcock Street and Apollo Blvd. in Melbourne next door to Sonic Restaurant.
